I think we have all been there, unfortunately. A friend or colleague, who did not hire you as their agent is now asking you for advice. How do you handle it? Do you completely stonewall them or do you give advice up to a certain point? Do you bring up the fact that they didn't hire you, and is there a way to do this that doesn't come off as bad-mouthing the other agent?

When friends use other agents, I always refer them back to the agent they are working with, I also remind them that advice from me would come with using me as an agent .
