I've heard there are several ways to do this, such as via AirPlay, but for some reason I can't seem to find my TV in the list of devices. The TV supports wifi, so I thought that should work, but no. Maybe I'm missing something or not setting something up? Maybe I need to connect some additional devices or install special apps?

AirPlay is obviously a great option, but it doesn't always work consistently on my old TV, especially if there are a lot of other devices around that clog up the Wi-Fi. So I started using DoCast too, as mentioned above. This app solves all compatibility issues and even works with TV models that don't support AirPlay natively.
If your TV supports AirPlay, it should show up in the list of devices on your iPhone automatically when they're connected to the same Wi-Fi network. But there are times when your TV just doesn't show up. In that case, check if AirPlay itself is enabled on the TV and if the firmware on the TV is updated. Sometimes, by the way, simply rebooting the router or TV helps. If your TV doesn't support AirPlay, then you can use third-party applications for screen mirroring iphone to smart tv . I, for example, use DoCast - this app allows you to easily broadcast your iPhone screen to Smart TV. All you need to do is install the app on your phone and then follow the simple instructions to connect.
