In your opinion how crucial are the online communities for the LGBT+ individuals? I would however like to know more about your perspective on how such a platform can be used to fight discrimination within society. Perhaps those who have ever taken part in such communities would be able to answer this question?

It is far simpler to turn to people for help and start a conversation since in the Internet a lot of individuals are more untroubled and safe. However, it is worth noting that all online platforms should be as open and safe as possible to make people feel comfortable. For myself, I consider myself a member of one of these communities, where people are really friends and where one is protected from haters and can share her stories without any shyness.
I think online communities play a key role in supporting LGBT+ people. They create a safe space where one can openly express their thoughts and feelings, find like-minded people and receive moral support. For example, platforms such as Taimi actively support the LGBT+ community, not only by providing a place to socialise, but also by participating in meaningful events. Just take their participation in celebrating LGBT+ History Month - https://medium.com/taimi/taimi-joins-lgbt-history-month-celebration-encouraging-everyone-to-recognize-the-people-they-fb95e7f685de. Such initiatives help raise awareness of important issues and foster a sense of belonging among participants.
