Zillow Removes Matterport 3D Tours (Effective Oct 20, 2025)

Effective immediately (Oct 20, 2025): Zillow has removed all Matterport 3D tours from listing pages on Zillow.

If your listings previously displayed a Matterport model, it will no longer appear on Zillow.


Why this happened (quick background)

This move stems from the ongoing Zillow–CoStar/Matterport conflict. Zillow says CoStar (Matterport’s owner) didn’t renew a Matterport API agreement and updated media terms to restrict use on competing portals. CoStar/Matterport dispute that characterization and say Zillow made a unilateral decision. Regardless of who’s right, the result is the same for agents: Matterport is no longer displayed on Zillow sites as of Oct 20, 2025.

What you should do now

  • Audit your actives: Note any listings that relied on Matterport on Zillow.

  • Swap capture for Zillow visibility: Use Zillow 3D Home® to regain a 3D badge/presence on Zillow.

  • Keep premium deliverables elsewhere: For robust floor plans, white-labeling, and analytics (your site, social, and MLS/IDX virtual-tour field), pair Zillow 3D Home with a secondary platform below.

  • Notify sellers: Explain the platform change and your replacement plan so their listing still stands out.
