Licensing Exam Prep
let's get this done
North Carolina Real Estate
Licensing Exam
-
North Carolina is a “broker only” state, so there is only one entry-level exam to take.
-
The exam has two separate sections: National (80 scored questions) and State (40 scored questions).
-
When you first take the exam, you will complete both sections, National and State. If you pass both, great! If you fail one of the exams, you only need to retake the one section you didn’t pass, either the National or the State. ($100 application fee and the $64 examination fee will be collected each time an applicant takes one or both sections of the exam.)
-
You must pass both sections in a 180-day period.
-
A passing score in the National section is 57/80. A passing score in the State section is 29/40.
-
All exam questions are multiple-choice.
-
You are given 2 hours to complete the National section and 1.5 hours to complete the State section. (You are able and recommended to take a break between sections, which is NOT counted in the exam time.)
-
You will receive immediate results. If you did not pass both sections, you will be given a diagnostic report of your strengths and weaknesses based on your exam results.
