For a daily commute, portability is king. You should definitely look at the selection at https://einktab.ca/product-category/compact-ereaders/. They have some great 6-inch models that are incredibly lightweight and can be held comfortably with one hand. Despite the smaller size, the text is still pin-sharp, and they are much more convenient for reading while standing on a crowded train. I find that I end up reading much more often when my device is small enough to carry everywhere without thinking about it.
