’m looking for a recommendation for a portable hardness tester to be used during in-service inspections of pressure vessels. The main challenge is that we have to work in tight spaces, sometimes on overhead surfaces or inside the tanks. We need something lightweight that can be operated with one hand if possible. Also, the surface might not be perfectly polished, so the device needs to be somewhat forgiving. Has anyone found a handheld unit that is actually comfortable to use for several hours of inspections?
