When and how do NC Real Estate Licenses Expire?
North Carolina Real Estate Licenses expire if you fail to pay your renewal fee by June 30th of each year. License expiration is independent of continuing education. The chart below will further illustrate the difference between license activation and expiration.

How to Get Your License Reinstated
Important Note: Reinstating your license after December 31st of the year that it expired will require additional education requirements in addition to paying fees.
Reinstatement of a license that has been expired for six months or less:
If your license has been expired for six month or less, you will need to complete the following requirements:
Visit the Commission’s homepage at www.ncrec.gov
Click on “Reinstate your License”
Enter your license number and your PIN
Your PIN will be the last four digits of your Social Security Number unless you have changed it in the past
Complete and answer the required questions for license reinstatement
Submit the $90 reinstatement fee
Complete and submit License Activation/Affiliation form (REC 2.08)
